Houda Khouri

Bellinats

Houda Khouri is a traveler and a lover of nature. Her jewelry reflects this love, as she uses various techniques besides the traditional silversmithing: stamping and dabbing, lost wax, Keum Boo and Precious Metal Clay to create unique and splendid pieces.

Houda began beading while working as a microbiologist and a molecular biologist at NIH where she was involved with the human genome project. Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, her passion for jewelry grew strong during a trip to Rome in 2009. Surrounded by so much art and beauty, she decided jewelry-making would become her full-time career. Houda has studied at the 'Accademia delle Arte Orafe' in Rome, JTIL in Beirut Lebanon and at Glen Echo park in Maryland.

She lives in DC and Dewey beach, DE. Her work has been shown at the Rehoboth Art League’s holiday fair, Lewes Historical Society Summer crafts fair, Glen Echo park, Ann Marie Sculpture garden, Pleiades at Strathmore mansion and the MMEG fair at the World Bank. Houda will be at the Takoma Park Folk Festival.

“I love challenging myself and hope others can see a link to Nature and beauty in all my pieces.”
