Website Help Needed for TPFF!
The Takoma Park Folk Festival needs a volunteer to help us with a redesign and ongoing maintenance of our website (www.tpff.org). All work can be done remotely from anywhere. We’d love to find one person to do it all, but if you can only do part of it, then let us know and we’ll look for someone else who can help with the other part.
Our website is never stagnant, but it’s been several years since it was redesigned, and it has accumulated a lot of “quirks” that will best be resolved by a new site with a more modern design template. The current site is in Wix, but a move to WordPress could be useful, or a new site can be done in Wix. The redesign should happen now, before we start to post new content over the summer.
Ongoing maintenance of our website means updates as needed when we post applications, update sponsors, post lists of participants and schedules, post announcements, etc. Usually there are spurts of activity around February, March, and June. Then August and September are really busy as we finalize the content for the festival in September.
Outside of the redesign, time needed is approximately 5 hours a month, though it varies widely, and will probably be more like 5 hours a week in the last month before the festival.
Comfort with graphic-based website content management systems and some HTML are must-haves. Familiarity with Wix is a plus.
You'll be working closely with the Publicity Chair and others who will provide content. You'll also have others who can provide guidance and technical assistance when needed. Overall, though, this role best for someone who can work independently.
Please email info@tpff.org if you are interested!
