Your Time Needed to Continue the Takoma Park Folk Festival

Do you love the Takoma Park Folk Festival and look forward to it every year? If so, your help is needed to make it happen again. The most recent festival was accomplished with a skeleton crew of volunteers, and we need more help to plan the next one. We hate to say there might not be another one, but without you, it may not happen.

We are in urgent need of new people with a range of interests and expertise, including, but not limited to:

• communications

• construction

• craft vending

• event planning

• fundraising

• grant writing and nonprofit finance

• IT

• logistics

• marketing

• project management

• publicity/communication

• sales

• social media

• volunteer recruiting and management

This is the time of year when we identify who will help us plan the next festival. We will have a kick-off meeting to discuss the planning process and the ways in which people can support efforts to continue this wonderful LONG-running festival.

Our informational meeting will be:

Sunday, January 21 at 2:30pm

Hefner Recreation Center

42 Oswego Avenue, Takoma Park, MD 20912

Please attend and bring any potentially interested people. Also, please share with your friends and neighbors!
